Evaluate A Yorkie Breeder Before You Buy Any Yorkie Dogs From Them

It is very important that you evaluate a Yorkie breeder before you commit to buying a puppy from them. Too many people fall in love with a picture they see online and go to any lengths to make it theirs.

They end up paying what the breeder is asking for the Yorkie dog and excitedly take it home.

It is only later on that they start to have questions and realize they should have looked into more details first.

Yorkie dogs are wonderful to have but there are many things you need to know about them before you own one. They are known to fall victim to a variety of medical concerns. Therefore you need to make sure you get a quality Yorkie dog to begin with.

There are plenty of Yorkshire terrier breeders out there for you to choose from so don’t think you are limited to only one. If you aren’t comfortable with what they offer then don’t be afraid to turn it down. Trust your own instincts because they could often be right.

You should never buy anything from a Yorkie breeder without checking them out first. Some go by that title but they basically operate puppy mills where they are breeding as quickly as they can so they can sell more puppies.

You want to work with those Yorkshire terrier breeders who have an interest in the quality of the breed as well as the well being of each of their dogs.

Take the time to talk to the breeder online, on the phone, and in person. It can be difficult to do so in person if they live quite a distance away from you. However, if it is possible to see them on their territory then do so.

This will give you the opportunity to see for yourself how the Yorkies are being cared for. You will be able to tell by their demeanor around the dogs if they are passionate about them or not.

Ask questions about how often they breed their males and females. You don’t want to buy any Yorkie puppy from a place that breeds the females more than twice a year. They shouldn’t be breeding the males more than four times a year.

Ask how they are able to determine any medical conditions that may be present before they breed them. This is a very important question so make sure you get an answer about it.

Take your time when you are looking for the right Yorkie breeder. Don’t rush due to the fact that you really want to have a Yorkie right away.

By taking your time you can ensure you will have a great looking Yorkie puppy that is also as healthy as possible based on the information known to the breeder.

Should you find that a particular Yorkie breeder isn’t living up to your expectations you need to report that information. The authorities can do an inspection without warning to see what is going on.

You don’t have to provide your name to make such a reference either. This is your duty to help ensure no Yorkie dog you have come across is being mistreated or neglected.
